This position would work as needed, typically filling in for regular pharmacists who are absent or during peak times when additional support is required. Business hours are Monday – Friday, between 8:00 am and 7:00 pm.

Key Responsibilities

1. Medication Dispensing: Accurately and efficiently dispense medications to patients according to prescriptions or medication orders, ensuring appropriate dosage, labeling, and packaging.
2. Prescription Verification: Review and verify the accuracy and appropriateness of prescriptions or medication orders, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
3. Drug Interactions & Contraindications: Assess potential drug interactions, contraindications, and allergies to avoid adverse reactions or medication errors.
4. Inventory Management: Monitor and manage medication inventory levels, restock supplies as needed, and ensure proper storage and disposal of medications.
5. Collaborate with Healthcare Professionals: Communicate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to clarify medication-related issues, provide recommendations, and ensure optimal patient care.
6. Documentation & Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medication profiles, prescription records, and other required documentation.
7. Adherence to Regulations: Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and professional standards in the practice of pharmacy, including maintaining patient confidentiality.

Qualifications & Skills

• Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm. D.) and possess a valid Tennessee pharmacist license.
• Prior experience working as a pharmacist with a good understanding of pharmacy operations and dispensing procedures. Long-Term Care experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
